Great value, solid course content

Wondering about The TEFL Institute of Ireland? I picked up their 300-hour Level 5 Hybrid Course and added the Teaching Business English module, and honestly, it's been a great experience. Getting started with the online materials was straightforward after I entered the code at checkout. Everything is laid out clearly, and the content feels really thorough, especially compared to some of the quick online courses I've seen advertised elsewhere. Definitely happy with the choice.

Pretty good overall

I signed up for the 30-hour Teaching Young Learners course. It was pretty easy to get started with, just a few clicks. The material was decent, nothing too mind-blowing but solid basics. I liked that I could do it at my own pace. The website was easy enough to use on my phone too, which was handy.

Reliable TEFL provider

I've used The TEFL Institute before for a shorter course and came back for the Level 5 TEFL Diploma this time. The consistency is great; the platform is familiar, and the course content is always clear and well-structured. They're my go-to for TEFL training because I know what to expect and they deliver.

Solid value, minor website issue

I completed the 300-hour Level 5 Hybrid Course. The course content itself was excellent and felt like good value for the price paid, especially with the practical virtual training included. Delivery of the digital certificate was fast after completion. My only minor gripe was that the website sometimes felt a bit clunky on my older laptop when switching between modules. It wasn't a deal-breaker, but it did slow me down occasionally. Customer service was responsive when I had a question about the course extension options, which was appreciated. Overall, a very positive experience despite that small tech hiccup.

Loving my new course!

Just started the Teaching English Online Specialist Course and I'm already learning so much! The modules are super engaging and I can't believe how much detail they pack into it. I'm really glad I chose this one. Definitely planning to take another course with them once I finish this one. So glad I found them!

Comprehensive course, easy process

I enrolled in the 180-hour Level 5 TEFL Course last month. The ordering process was straightforward on their website, and I received my login details almost immediately after payment. The course materials are extensive, covering grammar, lesson planning, and classroom management thoroughly. I also purchased the Hard Copy Certificate, which arrived about two weeks after I finished, securely packaged. I didn't need customer support, so I can't speak to that, but overall, it's been a very positive learning experience. The modules are easy to navigate and the quizzes reinforce the learning well.

Is the TEFL Institute of Ireland accredited? Saw some conflicting info online.

A ArjunR 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Yes, they are. I checked it thoroughly before I enrolled. They're recognized by Accreditation Council for Distance Learning, which is legit.

A ArjunR 1 month ago
Yeah, it's important to make sure it's not some fly-by-night operation.

Okay, that's reassuring. Thanks!

I'd always recommend looking up the specific accreditation body directly if you're unsure. Some places claim 'accreditation' without much weight.

Just finished the 120-hour Premier TEFL Course. Feeling pretty good about it, but wondering if the certificate is actually recognized everywhere.

R RahulK 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
It should be, most TEFL certs are pretty standard now. I used mine (from TEFL Institute too) to get a job in Vietnam last year, no problems.

D Deepak91 1 month ago
Yeah, internationally recognized usually means most places will accept it.

I heard some countries are stricter, especially for visa stuff. Did you check with your target country's requirements?

That's a good point. I'm looking at Spain.

Spain can be a bit particular. Worth a quick search.

Trying to decide between the Teaching Young Learners and Teaching Business English specialist courses. Any recommendations if I only have time for one?

K KavyaM 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Depends on your career goals. Young Learners is great if you want to teach in Asia or at summer camps. Business English is more for corporate settings or older students.
10
N NikhilS 1 month ago
I'm leaning towards Asia, so Young Learners probably makes more sense.

R RishiG 1 month ago
I did Young Learners and found it really practical. Lots of good activities and classroom management tips. Business English can be a bit drier.

Yeah, I heard that about Business English. Thanks!

My TEFL Institute coupon isn't working at checkout. It's a Black Friday one from last year, maybe that's why?

R RaviP 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Yeah, Black Friday codes almost always have an expiry date. They usually only last for the sale period.

Thinking about upgrading to the Level 5 TEFL Diploma. Is it really worth the extra cost over the 180-hour course? Anyone done both?

S Sneha22 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
I went straight for the Level 5. My understanding is it's more aligned with CELTA standards, which opens up more doors, especially in competitive markets. Employers often prefer it.
12
S Sneha22 1 month ago
It's more in-depth for sure, but totally manageable if you put the time in.
3
V VikramG 1 month ago
That's what I'm hoping for. Is the content much harder?
7
P PoojaR 1 month ago
I did the 180-hour first and then the Level 5 later. Honestly, the 180-hour was fine for my first job, but the Level 5 definitely made me feel more confident and I think it helped with getting better roles later on.
9
V VikramG 1 month ago
So you felt a noticeable difference?
8
A AmitM 1 month ago
Following this, also wondering if the Level 5 is overkill for just teaching online.
8
S Sneha22 1 month ago
Probably not *overkill*, but the 30-hour Teaching English Online module might be enough if that's your only goal.

Anyone know if the TEFL Institute offers student discounts? I'm currently enrolled in uni.

M MayaP 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Sometimes they have a UNiDAYS or StudentBeans partnership. Have you checked those sites?

Just got the 300-hour Level 5 Hybrid Course. Excited but also a bit overwhelmed by the materials. Any tips for managing the workload?

A AdityaM 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Break it down into smaller chunks. Don't try to binge-study. Set aside specific times each day or week.

And use the lesson planning resources they provide! Super helpful.
